Wilkes-Barre, PA – Marywood dropped a pair of matches at the King's College Tournament Saturday afternoon in Wilkes-Barre and saw their record slide to 1-3 on the young season.  In the opening game of the day, host King's defeated the Pacers 3-1 before Misericordia downed Marywood in three games.

In the opening match, King's won the first game 25-18 before Marywood leveled with a 25-9 decision in the second game.  The Monarchs would win the next two games 25-19 and 25-17 to notch the win. 

Emily Fillman (Clarion, PA) led the Pacers with nine kills and nine digs, while Taryn Borden (Bridgewater, NJ) added eight kills.  Riona Corr (Somersworth, NH) added 34 assists for Marywood. 

In the second match, Misericordia swept three close games.  The Cougars took the first game 25-21 before taking a 26-24 decision in the second game.  Misericordia close the match out with a 25-21 verdict in game three.

Borden led Marywood with nine kills against the Cougars while Fillman added six kills.  Corr had 22 assists for the Pacers in the loss.  Fillman was named to the All-Tournament team for her efforts over the weekend.

Marywood will enjoy more than a week off before returning to action on September 9th when they host the University of Scranton in a match scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
