Wilkes Remains Unbeaten with 4-0 Win Over Pacers

Scranton, PA – Visiting Wilkes University scored three first half goals en route to a 4-0 win over host Marywood University Saturday afternoon in non-conference field hockey action.  The Colonels, now 4-0 on the year, got two goals each from Alyssa Koncelick and Alyson Paulauskas as the visitors pounded 26 shots on the day, 22 of which they put on goal.

Koncelick opened the scoring for Wilkes with 16:56 left in the opening stanza on an unassisted goal.  Paulauskas then netted back-to-back goals for the Colonels just under two minutes apart with 10:18 and 8:25 left in the first half.  Both goals were also unassisted.  Koncelick then scored just under three minutes into the second half to make it 4-0.  The visitors enjoyed a 14-4 advantage in penalty corners.

Lindsey Davenport stopped all four Marywood shots in goal for Wilkes to pick up the win, while Marywood's Jennifer Miller made 18 saves in a losing effort.  The Pacers will return to action next Saturday when they host Philadelphia Biblical University in their first Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) match-up.
