Scranton, PA - Erin Kropa scored her first goal of the season just under 10-minutes into the second half and Meghan Coyle set Marywood's all-time shutout record as host Marywood University topped visiting FDU-Florham 1-0 in non-conference women's soccer action Saturday afternoon in Scranton. The win snaps a four-game slide for the Pacers, who improved to 3-4-1 on the year. The Devils, meanwhile, remain winless on the road and are 3-4.

After a scoreless first half, Kropa (Clarks Summit, PA) took a through ball from Erica Mechalke (Elmira, NY) after Mechalke played a one-time flick off a Mandy Costello (Sussex, NJ) cross. Kropa one-timed a shot past Devil net-minder Melanie Pierson to the far post from 15-yards out. The goal was Kropa's first of the year.

Meghan Coyle (left) picked up her first shutout of 2008 in goal for Marywood. Her four-save, scoreless effort established a new all-time shut-out mark at Marywood with nine. The sophomore goalkeeper from Endicott, New York picked up eight shutouts in an outstanding freshman campaign in 2007. Junior defender Jennifer Cady (Troupsburg, NY) made two clearing saves off an FDU corner kick from the line to preserve the shutout for Coyle.

FDU's Lauren Albrecht made six saves in the opening half in goal and Pierson took the loss after making three stops. The Devils had a 13-11 advantage in shots and a 4-3 advantage in corners.

The Pacers open up Colonial States Athletic Conference play on Tuesday as they visit Cedar Crest College for a 4:00 pm game.
