Scranton, PA - Misericordia University swept doubles action and picked up key wins at one and two singles as the Cougars improved to 7-1 on the year with a 6-3 non-conference win over host Marywood University Monday afternoon in women's tennis action.

Misericordia's one-doubles team of Abby Searfoss and Ashley Managbang cruised to an 8-2 win and both Searfoss and Mangabang went on to wins at one and two doubles, respectively.  Searfoss defeated Marywood's Ryann Null (Williamsport, PA) 6-0, 6-3 and Mangabang picked up a three-set, super-tiebreaker win over Ashley Karli (Blandon, PA).  Mangabang opened with a 1-6 loss to Karli but rebounded with a 7-5 win in the second set before picking up a tight 10-8 win in the super tiebreaker.

Marywood got singles wins from Jodi Balch (Matamoras, PA), Beth Schneider (Port Jervis, NY) and Lindsay Burke (Yorktown, PA) at three, four and six singles, respectively.

Marywood (3-3) looks to rebound Thursday when they host Rosemont College in CSAC action starting at 4:00 pm.
