Tennis Moves to 5-1 in CSAC, Tops Notre Dame 8-1

Baltimore, MD - Visiting Marywood University improved to 5-1 in CSAC play (5-3 overall) with an 8-1 win over host College of Notre Dame Saturday afternoon in women's tennis action.  The Gators, meanwhile, slip to 2-3 (1-2 CSAC).  It was the second straight match that the Pacers swept doubles action and 2-6 singles action.

Gator junior Miku White earned Notre Dame's lone point on the day with a 8-4 win at #1 singles.  Marywood's Ashley Karli, Jodi Balch, Beth Schneider, Lindsay Burke (Yorktown, NY) and Sarah Lockenmeyer (Point Pleasant Beach, NJ) each earned wins at 2-6 singles, respectively.

In doubles action, Ryann Null (Williamsport, PA) and Balch (Matamoras, PA) improved to 4-2 overall and 3-1 in CSAC play as the number-one team with an 8-1 win.  Karli (Blandon, PA) and Aubrey Klesh (West Hazleton, PA) earned a 8-0 win at 2-doubles, and Morgan Fereck (Duryea, PA) and Schneider (Port Jervis, NY) completed the doubles-sweep with a 8-1 win at third doubles.

Marywood will look for their sixth win of the season Sunday when the Pacers host Gwynedd-Mercy College at 1:30 pm in CSAC action.
