Pacers Use Two Big Games to Top Cedar Crest, 3-1

Scranton, PA - Marywood University used two big wins in games two and four and snuck out a win in a tight opening game as the Pacers evened their CSAC record at 2-2 with a 3-1 win over visiting Cedar Crest College Tuesday evening in women's volleyball action at Marywood's Insalaco Arena. The win improved the Pacers to 4-10 overall while the Falcons slipped to 4-14 (0-4 CSAC).

With Marywood trailing 18-17 in a tight opening game, the Pacers ran off four consecutive points to grab a 21-18 lead. Marywood then closed out the Falcons in the opening game 25-21 before rolling to a 25-12 win in game two. The Falcons did not go away quietly, however, as the visitors battled the Pacers and earned a hard-fought 26-24 win in game three. Marywood would come back strong and again explode offensively in a 25-13 win in game four.

Emily Fillman (Clarion, PA) had a match-high 12 kills for the Pacers, while Rionna Corr (Somersworth, NH) had a match-high 17 assists. Lauren Bianchetti (Highland Mills, NY) added 14 assists on the night for the Pacers, while Lizzy Green (Shenandoah, PA) had six service aces.

The Falcons were led by Lauren Seale (15 assists) and Kelly Oakes (10 digs).

Marywood returns to action Thursday night when the Pacers travel to Hackettstown, NJ to face CSAC foe Centenary College for a 7:00 pm match.
