Aston, PA - Marywood University battled back to win first doubles 9-7 after being down early and the Pacers held on for a hard-fought 5-4 win over host Neumann College Friday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) women's tennis action.

With the score knotted 3-3 after singles play, the Pacers, now 1-1 (1-0 CSAC) found themselves down early in first and second doubles, but the team of Ryann Null (Williamsport, PA) and Aubrey Klesh (West Hazleton, PA) fought back to top Allison Trout and Courtney Hartel, 9-7.  Marywood also picked up an important doubles win at third doubles when Beth Schneider (Port Jervis, NY) and partner Morgan Fereck (Duryea, PA) won 8-4.

In singles action, Null and Ashley Karli (Blandon, PA) earned wins at one and two singles, respectively, with Null beating Trout 6-4, 6-1 and Karli topping Alice DeTolla 6-4, 6-2.  The Knights then got wins at three, four and six singles before Amy Doot (Hawthorne, PA) took a 7-5, 6-1 win from Michelle Steward.

Marywood is scheduled to host Mt. St. Mary College Saturday at 1:00 pm.
