Edwardsville, PA – Wilkes University evened their record to 2-2 on the year with a 4-1 win over visiting Marywood University Saturday afternoon at the Lady Colonel Classic in Edwardsville.  The hosts scored two first half goals and added two more tallies in the final six minutes to hand the Pacers their first loss of 2008.

The Lady Colonels opened the scoring just over 18 minutes into the game as Taryn Hallowell scored one of her three goals on the day off an assist from Julissa Reed.  Hallowell would make it 2-0 just over six minutes later as Reed picked up her second assist of the day.

Wilkes, however, responded almost immediately, and got two quick counter goals as Marywood pushed for the tying goal.  Hallowell completed her hat-trick at the 84:40 mark with a unassisted goal and then Reed finished the scoring with just :05 left off an assist from Hallowell.

Berkey made seven saves for Wilkes while Marywood's Meghan Coyle (Endicott, NY) had a game-high eight stops.  Marywood (2-1-1) will face Moravian College, a 3-0 winner over Smith College in the opening game of the Classic, Sunday afternoon at 2:30.
