Dallas, PA – Moravian College netted a goal in each half as the Greyhounds topped Marywood University 2-0 in non-conference women's soccer action Sunday afternoon to wrap up the second day of the Wilkes University Lady Colonel Classic.
Alessandra Valdetara took a through ball from Jenelle Mirro at the 13:09 mark and beat Marywood keeper Meghan Coyle (Endicott, NY) over her head for the games first goal. The Greyhounds added an insurance goal on a beautiful direct kick by Terri Roberts who sent the ball into the far-post to make it 2-0 at the 50:49 mark.
Coyle made a game-high 8 saves and was named to the All-Classic team. She was joined on the team by fellow sophomore Andrea Barker (Binghamton, NY) who had two strong games at defense and midfield for the Pacers. Freshman Christina Diehl (Coopersburg, PA) played the final 13:35 in goal for her first college action and made one save.
Marywood will return to Mangelsdorf field at Misericordia University Wednesday night at 7:00 pm to take on the Cougars in non-conference action.
