Scranton, PA - Marywood University's Prince Blacknall and Sidney Tharpe combined to score over 50% of their team's points as part of a 84-65 win over visiting Philadelphia Biblical University in CSAC men's basketball action Saturday afternoon in Scranton. Tom Arthur netted a game-high 36 points in the losing effort for the Crimson Eagles, who fell to 1-8 (0-2 CSAC) on the year. Blacknall (24 points) and Tharpe (22 points) were joined in double-figures by Pat Lambert (13) as the Pacers improved to 8-4 (3-2 CSAC) on the year.

With the scored knotted 17-17 with just over nine minutes left, it looked as if the visiting Crimson Eagles would go into the break with the lead as PBU used an 11-2 run over a two minute span to take a 28-19 lead. After both teams traded baskets and with PBU up 33-26, Marywood closed the half on a 13-0 run over the final 2:45 to go into the break with a six point edge, 39-33. The Pacers extened their lead to 46-33 with a 7-0 run over the first two minutes of the second half, and hedl that two-digit cushion for much of the second half. The Crimson Eagles got back to within nine with just under twelve to play, but within six minutes the Marywood lead had extended to 19 (73-54).

Arthur scored his game-high 36 points on 14 of 21 shooting from the floor and a perfect 8-for-8 from the charity stripe. Blacknall (Stroudsburg, PA) finished with a team best 24 on 6 of 13 shooting from the floor and 11 of 12 effort from the line. Tharpe (Victorville, CA) was 9 of 21 from the floor for 22 points, while Lambert (Kingsley, PA) was 6 of 8 for 13 points.

Marywood returns to action Tuesday night when they host PSU-Schuylkill (5-5) in non-conference action. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm in the Insalaco Arena.
