Scranton, PA – Marywood University built a 16-point halftime lead over Rosemont College in Colonial States Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon and never looked back on their way to a 72-45 victory. With the win, the Pacers improve to 10-6 on the season and 5-3 in conference play while the Ramblers fall to 3-12 and remain winless in six CSAC games.

Marywood staked out a 17-6 over the first 5:10 of Saturday's contest led by six points from Marielle Thorsen (Belvidere, NJ) and five from Lizzy Green (Shenandoah, PA).

Rosemont cut the Pacers lead to 25-17 after Vanessa Johnson connected on a pair of free throws with 9:24 to play in the opening half, but Marywood responded with a 13-2 run over the next 3:15 and would hold a 39-23 lead at halftime.

Thorsen, Green, and Mariah Schaeffer (Bainbridge, NY) each had nine first half points for the Pacers, who shot 52 percent from the floor in the half including four of seven three-point attempts.

Rosemont, who shot just 33 percent from the field in the opening stanza, was led by Johnson's eight points.

Following a halftime ceremony that honored Annemarie Tichy-McCloskey and Kerri Ruddy-Archer as the 13th class of honorees to be inducted into Marywood University's prestigious Athletics Hall of Fame, Lauren Rogan (Archbald, PA) scored the first five points of the second half to give the Pacers a 44-23 advantage with 17:52.

The Pacers would stretch their lead to a commanding 28 points with 11:43 to play following a 12-2 run highlighted by eight points from Thorsen, and Marywood never looked back on their way to their third consecutive conference victory.

Thorsen finished the afternoon with team-highs of 17 points and seven rebounds. The freshman guard shot six of 10 from the floor including a hot five for seven from three-point land. Schaeffer added 12 points for Marywood, who shot 49 percent from the floor for the game.

Rosemont was led by Johnson's game-high points and 11 rebounds. Adriann Demchenko pulled down a game-high 13 boards for the Ramblers, who hit just five field goals in the second half and finished the afternoon shooting 26 percent from the floor.

Marywood will enjoy a single day's rest before returning to the court for a CSAC battle against local rival Keystone College on Monday evening. The Pacers and Giants will tip-off at 6:00 p.m. in La Plume.
