Marywood Falls at Keystone in CSAC Battle

La Plume, PA - Tercel Taylor poured in a game high 23 points as the Keystone Giants recorded their fifth straight win, 80-59 over Marywood University Monday evening in La Plume.  With the win, Keystone moves to 12-4 overall and 6-2 in the CSAC, while Marywood falls to 11-6 and 5-4.

Keystone has now won seven of their last eight, their only blemish during that time coming at Baptist Bible.

Taylor hit on 10-20 from the field to go along with five rebounds and four steals. Malcolm Boone was the only other Giant in double figures with 14 points.

Prince Blacknall led Marywood with 14 points, while Sidney Tharpe hit for 12 and Joshua Pena 10 to lead the Pacers.

After building a five point lead at the break, Keystone came out hot in the second half hitting 52% of their of shots from the field, while Marywood struggled at 32%. The Giants also shot 86.7% (13-15) from the free throw line in the second half.

Although the Giants struggled from beyond the arch, hitting on only 3-20, their ability to limit their turnovers, 10 on the night, and solid free throw shooting helped them maintain control.

Michael Kelly and Kenneth Hardnett each pulled in nine rebounds as the Giants controlled the boards with a 38-26 edge. Kelly also dished out a team high five assists.

Blacknall recorded six assists to lead the Pacers.  Marywood returns to action Saturday with a road trip to Radnor to square off with Cabrini College.  Tip-off is set for 3:00 pm.
