Pacers Breeze Past Gators in CSAC Play

Baltimore, MD - Visiting Marywood scored a season-high nine goals in a 9-1 rout at College of Notre Dame Saturday afternoon in a Colonial States Athletic Conference women's soccer match-up. Lisa Hanselman led Marywood with three goals while teammate Siobahn Blancaflor added two goals and three assists as the Pacers stretched their unbeaten streak to nine games.

The Pacers dominated possession right from the opening whistle and had several scoring opportunities in the opening minutes. Marywood broke open the scoring in the 17th minute when Olivia Habicht (Woodcliff Lake, NJ) netted the first of her two goals of the day. Hanselman (Manheim, PA) followed less than three minutes later with her first tally of the afternoon on a Blancaflor assist. Blancaflor (Haddam, CT) then netted her first goal in the 23rd minute to give the Pacers a 3-0 lead.

Caitlin Light (Annville, PA) pushed the score to 4-0 in the 33rd minute off an Erica Mechalke (Elmira, NY) assist before Notre Dame got on board on a goal by Lauren Terry, assisted by Kelsey Kempf, to make the score 4-1 at the half.
 
Marywood wasted no time after the intermission, scoring four more times in the opening 12:15 of the period including a pair by Hanselman and Habicht and Blancaflor's second goals. Diana Young closed out the scoring for Marywood with a goal assisted by Stephanie Hoffman in the 69th minute to give the Pacers the 9-1 win.

Marywood held a 32-1 advantage on shots and a 10-0 edge in corner kicks.

Meghan Coyle (Endicott, NY) earned the victory in net for Marywood before giving way to Dominique Kozuch (Jermyn, PA) and Jessica Shotwell (Philadelphia, PA). Notre Dame senior goalkeeper Amanda McKenney made nine saves in the loss for the Gators.

Marywood returns to action on Wednesday when they host Cedar Crest College in a CSAC contested slated to kickoff at 4:00 p.m. in Scranton.
