Scranton, PA – Marywood University lost just one game while winning three Colonial States Athletic Conference volleyball matches on Saturday afternoon. The Pacers opened the day with a 3-0 win over Philadelphia Biblical University before topping Rosemont College 3-1 and Keystone College 3-0 to improve to 6-11 on the season and 4-3 in conference play.
In Saturday's opener, the Pacers won the first game 26-44 before claiming 25-22 victories in games two and three to sweep Philadelphia Biblical. Emily Fillman (Clarion, PA) led Marywood with 12 kills while Taryn Borden (Bridgewater, NJ) added 11. Alyssa Hartranft (Mountain Top, PA) had a team-high 26 assists while Arielle Cassidy (Garwood, NJ) led the Pacers with 14 digs.
In Marywood's second contest of the day, the Pacers won the first game 25-23 over Rosemont College before the Ravens equalized with a 26-24 win in game two. The Pacers responded with wins of 25-22 and 25-15 to claim their second victory of the day.
Fillman again led the way with 18 kills for the Pacers. Hartranft had 31 assists while Riona Corr (Somersworth, NH) added 10 helpers. Jessica Swida (Wilkes-Barre Township, PA) had a team-best 20 digs in the match.
The Pacers would close out the day with a 3-0 sweep over local rival Keystone College with victories of 25-13, 25-13, and 25-21 to remain perfect on the day. Lizzy Green (Shenandoah, PA) led the way with 11 kills while Corr led the Pacers with 23 assists. Cassidy led the team with 10 digs while Megan Shilling (Ringtown, PA) added eight.
Marywood returns to action this Thursday when they visit Cedar Crest College for a CSAC match scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. in Allentown.
