Rosemont, PA - Marywood University needed a win to keep their women's tennis season alive and got just that as the Pacers downed host Rosemont College 5-4 in a thrilling battle for the last Colonial States Athletic Conference playoff spot. Both teams entered with identical 6-3 marks in CSAC play but the Pacers were able to pull out the win to advance to post-season play. Marywood improves to 7-6 (7-3 CSAC) and will face top-seeded Gwynedd-Mercy College while the Ravens close out their season at 6-7 (6-4 CSAC).

Marywood grabbed an important 2-1 lead after doubles play thanks to wins from their No. 2 and No. 3 teams. After Ashley Karli (Blandon, PA) and Kara Hoff (Montoursville, PA) fell 8-3 at No. 1 doubles to the team of Priyanka Reddy and Olesya Kuchma, Marywood earned an 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles from the team of Jessica Brogna (Pittston, PA) and Kellie Coleman (Carbondale, PA). With that win, the duo of Brogna and Coleman improved to 9-1 on the year (8-1 CSAC). At No. 2 doubles, Lindsay Burke (Yorktown, NY) and Beth Schneider (Port Jervis, NY) earned a hard-fought 8-6 win over Karis Coad and Kate Clarkson to give the Pacers the early lead.

In singles play, Rosemont grabbed two early points to reclaim a 3-2 lead thanks to wins by Reddy at No. 1 (6-1, 6-1 over Karli) and Kuchma at No. 2 (6-0, 6-1 over Schneider). But, Marywood rallied for three wins at No. 3-5 singles play to clinch the win and the playoff berth. At No. 3 singles, Burke downed Coad 6-2, 6-3.
