Scranton, PA – Marywood University scored two goals in the first 9:55 of Tuesday's Colonial States Athletic Conference men's soccer tilt with Baptist Bible College and cruised to a 5-1 victory on a blustery afternoon in Scranton. The Pacers improve to 5-6-1 on the season with the win including a 3-1 mark in conference play while the Defenders see their record slide to 5-9-1 overall and 1-2-1 in the CSAC.

Brett Megee (Easton, PA) gave the Pacers a 1-0 lead just 1:54 into Tuesday's game by finding the back of the net after William Gordon (Harrisburg, PA) headed a cross down to Megee's feet.

Andrew Tarantino (Vernon, NJ) doubled the Pacers' lead in the 10th minute when he played a free kick from 40 yards out on goal which slipped through the hands of Baptist Bible goalkeeper Luke Williams and across the goal line.

Marywood would hold the 2-0 advantage at halftime after out-shooting the Defenders 9-3.

The hosts stretched their lead to 3-0 in the 59th minute of play after Nate Wenger (Lititz, PA) made a great run in the box and fired a shot on goal that Williams saved, but a Baptist Bible defender inadvertently put the ball in his own goal while trying to clear it off the line.

Megee scored his second goal of the game, and team-leading fifth of the season, unassisted in the 70thth minute before Brandon Ritter (Wantage, NJ) netted his second tally of the season with an unassisted marker following a Pacer restart in the 76th minute.

Baptist Bible's Joshua Pyper broke up Marywood's bid for a shutout in the 84th minute. Marywood goalkeeper Matthew Roman (Williamsport, PA), who replaced starter Jared El Gayeh (Baldwin, NY) in the 70th minute, made a diving stop on Pyper's initial shot, but the senior midfielder was able to bang home the rebound to close out the scoring.

The Pacers finished with an 18-8 advantage in shots for the game and a 10-5 edge in corner kicks.

El Gayeh made one save in Marywood's goal to pick up the win while Roman finished with two stops in just over 20 minutes of play.

Williams made six saves, including several spectacular ones, in a losing effort for the Defenders.

After scoring just eight goals in their first ten games of the season, Marywood has now equaled that mark in its last two matches, a 3-0 win over Keystone on Saturday and today's 5-1 victory.

The Pacers will look to build on that momentum this Saturday when they visit Philadelphia Biblical University for a CSAC match-up slated to kick off 3:00 p.m. in Langhorne, PA.
