Allentown, PA – Emily Fillman had 14 kills and Taryn Borden added 13 to help lead Marywood University to a 3-1 win over Cedar Crest College in Colonial States Athletic Conference volleyball action on Thursday evening. The Pacers notched their fourth straight win, all in conference play, to improve to 7-11 on the season and 5-3 in the CSAC.
Marywood claimed the first two games by identical 25-17 scores before the Falcons, who are now 8-10 on the year (4-3 CSAC), claimed a 25-23 win in game three. The Pacers would close out the win with a 25-23 decision in the fourth game.
Fillman (Clarion, PA) had a team-high 14 kills to lead Marywood while adding 11 digs. Borden (Bridgewater, NJ), who leads the Pacers with 144 kills on the season, added 13 in the win.
Arielle Cassidy (Garwood, NJ) was credited with 13 digs, tops for the team while Riona Corr (Somersworth, NH) contributed 46 assists and now has a team-high 298 helpers on the season.
Marywood returns action on Saturday at Wilkes University for a tri-match. The Pacers will take on the host Colonels at 11:00 a.m. before playing Albright College at 1:00 p.m.
