Radnor, PA – Cabrini College defeated visiting Marywood University three games to none in Colonial States Athletic Conference volleyball action Tuesday evening to finish their regular season with an unblemished 11-0 record in conference play. The Cavaliers also improved to 22-6 overall on the season while the Pacers fell to 8-14 overall and 6-4 in the CSAC.
Cabrini won the first two games of Tuesday's match by identical 25-13 scores before finishing off the Pacers 25-16 to complete the sweep and clinch the top-seed in the upcoming CSAC playoffs.
The trio of Megan Ryan, Alexis Doss, and Stephanie Recklau led Cabrini with seven kills apiece. Lizzie Williams had a game-high 24 assists while Courtney Abel had 12 digs to lead the Cavaliers, who finished the match with 34 kills and 5 service aces as a team.
Taryn Borden (Bridgewater, NJ) led Marywood with nine kills and 11 digs, both team-highs. Lizzy Green (Shenandoah, PA) added six kills for the Pacers, who got seven digs apiece from Emily Fillman (Clarion, PA) and Alyssa Hartranft (Mountain Top, PA), who led the squad with 11 assists.
Marywood finished the night with 20 kills overall and 6 service aces, led by a pair by Maryrose Ammirati (North Babylon, NY).
The Pacers close out the conference portion of their regular season schedule on Thursday evening with a crucial match at Immaculata University. The first serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Immaculata with Marywood needing a win ensure a spot in the CSAC playoffs.
