Clarks Summit, PA – After dropping the opening match of Saturday's Colonial States Athletic Conference tri-match to host Baptist Bible College 3-1, Marywood University's women's volleyball rebounded with a 3-1 win over the College of Notre Dame to earn a split for the day. The Pacers' record now stands at 3-10 overall and 1-2 in conference play heading into Monday evening's CSAC match with Centenary College.
In the opening match, the Defenders took the first two games by scored of 25-19 and 25-18 before Marywood claimed the third game 25-23. However, Baptist Bible would close out the match with a 25-12 decision in the fourth game.
Taryn Borden (Bridgewater, NJ) led the Pacers with 10 kills while adding nine digs. Emily Fillman (Clarion, PA) contributed eight kills and a team-high 10 digs while Alyssa Hartranft (Mountain Top, PA) led Marywood with 13 assists.
Marywood opened their second match of the day with a 25-16 win in the first game against the College of Notre Dame. After the Gators knotted the match with a 25-23, the Pacers claimed games three and four by scores of 25-8 and 25-22 to claim their first conference win of the season.
Megan Shilling (Ringtown, PA) led Marywood with 10 kills and added 11 digs in the win. Marin Robinson (South Windsor, CT) led four Pacers in double-digit digs with 14 while Riona Corr (Somersworth, NJ) had a match-best 17 assists.
The Pacers will host Centenary College in a CSAC match-up on Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. in Marywood's Insalaco Arena.
