Scranton, PA – Centenary College swept host Marywood University in three games in Colonial States Athletic Conference women's volleyball action Monday evening in the Insalaco Arena. The Cyclones improve to 8-10 on the season and 4-1 in the CSAC while the Pacers see their record slide to 3-11 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
Centenary claimed a tight first game 25-21 before winning game two 25-14. Marywood battled to remain alive in the third game, but fell by a slim 25-23 margin.
Taryn Borden (Bridgewater, NJ) led the Pacers attack with seven kills and also recorded six digs. Emily Fillman (Clarion, PA) contributed six kills and nine digs for Marywood while Maryrose Ammirati (North Babylon, NY) led the squad with 13 digs. Riona Corr (Somersworth, NH) had a team-best 18 assists in a losing effort.
Marywood returns to action this Saturday when they host a CSAC quad match beginning at 10:00 a.m. against local rival Keystone College. The Pacers will then take on Philadelphia Biblical University before closing out the day against Rosemont College in a match slated to begin at 2:00 p.m. in the Insalaco Arena.
