Scranton, PA - Immaculata University used a well-balance scoring attack, getting points from nine of 11 players as the visiting Mighty Macs took the Colonial States Athletic Conference men's basketball opener with a 72-58 win over host Marywood University Monday evening in Scranton. The win moves Immaculata to 2-3 (1-0 CSAC) on the year while Marywood slips to 3-2 (0-1 CSAC).

The visitors jumped out to take a nine-point lead at the break (40-31) thanks to 55% shooting from the floor. Immaculata hit 16 of 29 shots from the floor and went 3 of 6 from behind the arc. Marywood, meanwhile, hit only 8 of 24 shots for a 33% first-half effort. The Pacers did manage 15 points from long range, going 5 for 9 from three-point land in the first half.

Despite limiting the Mighty Macs to 9 of 30 shooting (30%) in the second half, Marywood's offensive struggles continued as well as the Pacers hit just 37% from the floor in the second half and were not able to climb back to within striking distance.

Matthew Medici (Princeton Junction, NJ) scored a team-high 13 points while Jacques Robinson (Athens, GA) had 11. Immaculata got a game-high 14 points from Eric Barefield and Robert Siter, while John Boyd added 12. Barefield had the game's lone double-double with a 10-rebound night.

Marywood will look to get back on track Thursday when the Pacers host Cabrini College in a CSAC tilt scheduled to tip-off at 8:00 pm.
