Cavaliers Top Marywood in CSAC Action

Scranton, PA - Cabrini College forced 30 turnovers and Dom Farrello had a game-high 19 points to lead three Cavaliers in double-figures as visiting Cabrini improved to 2-0 in CSAC action with a 65-52 win over host Marywood University Thursday evening in Scranton. The loss drops Marywood to 3-3 (0-2 CSAC) while Cabrini remains unbeaten with a 5-0 overall record.

The visitors limited Marywood to 28% shooting in the opening half as they build a seven point lead at the break, 30-23. Marywood would remain cold from the floor for much of the second half and shoot 32.7% total for the game. Farrello went 7 of 18 from the floor and was 5 of 12 in the second half to lead his team with 19 points. Kevin Misevicius had 11 points for Cabrini and the Cavaliers also got a double-digit performance from Cory Lemons (13 points) despite hitting just 33.3% of their own shots on the night.

Marywood got back to within seven several times in the second half but each time the Cavaliers would answer to stretch their lead back to nine. Marywood hit just 7 of 20 threes in the game and committed a season-high 30 turnovers. Cabrini, meanwhile, limited their mistakes and committed just 12 miscues on the night.

James Lavan (Plains, PA) led Marywood with 13 points on 4 of 7 shooting and was 2 of 2 from three-point land. Jacques Robinson (Athens, GA) added 12 and Antre Cole (Tobyhanna, PA) had 10.

Marywood returns to action Saturday when they travel north to face local rival Keystone College at 3:00 pm in LaPlume.
