BOX SCORE

Scranton, PA – Marywood University opened up a 25-point lead midway through the first-half of Thursday evening's Colonial States Athletic Conference women's basketball game and never looked back on their way to an 81-55 win over Keystone, avenging a 64-55 loss to the Giants on January 22nd in La Plume. With the win, the Pacers improve to 13-7 overall and 8-4 in conference play.

Marywood opened up a 31-6 advantage over the first 11:29 of the game after connecting on 11 of their first 17 attempts from the floor. The Pacers got eight points from Marielle Thorsen (Belvidere, NJ) and six from Mariah Schaeffer (Bainbridge, NY) during that stretch.

Keystone would cut the Pacers' lead to 19 points at 32-13 following a three-point play by Sarah Barretto with 6:04 remaining, but would come no closer in the opening stanza as Marywood took a 40-17 lead into the locker room.

The Pacers, who finished the half connecting on 45.2 percent from the floor and 10 of 12 from the free throw line, were led by Thorsen's 12 points.

Jessica Kobesky paced the Giants with seven first-half points as Keystone connected on just six of their 30 attempts from the floor and zero for eight from beyond the arc.

Keystone would score the first four points off the second half to narrow the visitors' deficit to 40-23 with 18:19 remaining, but Marywood would go on a 19-6 run over the next 8:34 to dash any hopes of a Giants' comeback.

The Pacers would lead by as many as 33 points at 64-31 with 8:04 to play and Keystone would come no closer than within 22 points in a physical second half that saw the two teams combine to shoot 45 free throws.

Four Marywood players finished the game in double-figures, led by Thorsen's 18 points. Schaeffer ended the night with 15 points and a game-high four assists. Maggie Farrell (Telford, PA) netted 13 points while Amanda Lass (Brackney, PA) recorded a double-double on 12 points and a game-high 10 rebounds.

The Pacers shot 41.7 percent from the field for the game and 90.6 percent from the charity stripe, missing on just three of their 32 attempts.

Kobesky led Keystone with 15 points and eight rebounds while Barretto finished with 13 points and eight boards. Ellen Fallon added 10 points for the Giants, who shot 25.9 percent from the field and 63.9 percent from the free throw line.

The loss drops Keystone's record to 9-10 on the season and 4-6 in the CSAC.
