BOX SCORE

Langhorne, PA – Freshman guard Marielle Thorsen scored 22 points to lead visiting Marywood University to a 76-61 victory over Philadelphia Biblical University in Colonial States Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon. The Pacers, who have now won three consecutive games, improved to 14-7 on the season and 9-4 in conference play.

Marywood began the afternoon by sprinting out to a 16-5 advantage behind a five for five shooting clip from the field. Marywood would extend their early edge to 30-10 lead before a Crimson Eagle timeout at the eight minute mark would finally help slow down the visitor's dominating first half performance and the hosts
would cut the Pacers' lead to 43-25 heading into halftime.

Marywood shot a hot 58.6 percent from the floor in the opening half, connecting on 17 of 28 of their attempts that included four three-pointers.

The Pacers, who limited Philadelphia Biblical to just six first half field goals, were led Thorsen's (Belvidere, NJ) 14 points and five assists.

Sarah Poole paced the Crimson Eagles with eight points in the first 20 minutes of the contest.

The 18-point halftime deficit would prove to be too much for Philadelphia Biblical to overcome as the Crimson Eagles were unable to draw any closer than within 13 points as Marywood continued their solid shooting, connecting on 13 of their 26 attempts in the second stanza and a perfect five for five from the free throw line.

Philadelphia Biblical knocked down 13 of their 34 field goal attempts in the second half, a 38.2 percent clip while falling to 4-15 for the year and 1-11 in the CSAC.

For the third-straight game, Thorsen led all scorers after finishing the night with 22 points after connecting on nine of her 14 attempts from the floor and a four of six performance from beyond the arc. The freshman also added a game-high six steals and a team-best five assists.

Stephanie Fusaro (Bala Cynwyd, PA) tallied 15 points for Marywood while Amanda Lass (Brackney, PA) finished a rebound shy of a double after ending the afternoon with 11 points and nine rebounds.

Dani Norton led four Crimson Eagles in double-digits with 18 points and a team-high six rebounds. Poole and Summer Mullen each scored 11 points, while Dani Hooper contributed 10 points for Philadelphia Biblical.

Marywood will look to extend its winning streak to four on Monday when the play host to Cedar Crest College in a CSAC game scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. in the Insalaco Arena.
