Scranton, PA – With the score tied at 54-54 with 3:11 to play in Monday evening's Colonial States Athletic Conference game, visiting Cedar Crest College scored six straight points and hung on to defeat Marywood University 66-59. With the win, the Falcons improved to 11-9 on the season and 6-6 in the CSAC while the Pacers slip to 14-8 and 9-5 in conference play.

The two teams traded the lead four times over the opening 3:18 of the first half before Marywood was able to build a 12-7 advantage at the 15:13 mark on a Marielle Thorsen (Belvidere, NJ) jumper.

Cedar Crest cut the Pacers' lead to 15-13 on a Leann Wallower field goal with 11:39 left in the first half, but Marywood was able to stretch their lead to as many as 11 points after Stephanie Fusaro (Bala Cynwyd, PA) converted a pair of free throws to give the hosts a 31-20 advantage with 3:30 showing on the clock.

Fusaro's free throws were the last points the Pacers would score in the opening 20 minutes, as the Falcons closed the half with a 10-0 run and Elizabeth Sunderhaus's lay-up with 17 seconds left cut Marywood's lead to 31-30 as the game went to intermission.

Marywood, who shot 31.6 percent from the floor in the opening half and were 0-9 from three-point range, were led by Amanda Lass's (Brackney, PA) 10 first-half points.

Wallower led Cedar Crest with 12 points in the half as the Falcons shot 34.3 percent from the field for the period.

Following the break, Marywood regained a five-point cushion on back-to-back baskets by Mariah Schaeffer (Bainbridge, NY) and Thorsen, but Cedar Crest fought back and took their first lead since early in the first half at 38-36 on a Sarah Campbell field goal with 16:25 to play.

Marywood would regain the lead at 46-44 with 9:55 to play on a Lizzy Green (Shenandoah, PA) lay-up, but Sunderhaus scored the next eight points of the contest giving the visitors a 52-46 edge with 5:09 remaining.

A quick 6-0 run by Marywood tied the score at 52-52 with 3:11 to play, but Cedar Crest came right back equaled the feat over the next 2:14 to hold a 62-56 advantage with 37 seconds to play, and the Falcons went 10 of 11 from the free throw line over the closing minutes to secure the key conference victory.

Keri Lasky led four Falcons in double-digits with 14 points including going 8 for 8 from the free throw line. Lakeema Jones finished the night with 13 points while Wallower added 12 points. Sunderhaus contributed 10 points and a team-high eight rebounds as Cedar Crest avenged an 85-79 loss to the Pacers in Allentown on January 19th

Thorsen led the Pacers, who shot 32.4 percent from the field and converted just two of 22 three-point attempts, with 18 points. Lass finished the evening with a double-double on 14 points and a game-high 12 rebounds while Fusaro was the third Pacer in double-figures with 10 points.

Marywood will play its final non-conference game of the season on Thursday when they visit Penn State-Harrisburg in a game scheduled to tip-off at 7:00 p.m.
