BOX SCORE

Scranton, PA - Susquehanna University scored three goals to break open a tie game early in the fourth quarter and held on for an 8-7 victory over Marywood University in non-conference men's lacrosse action Saturday evening at the University of Scranton's Fitzpatrick Field. With the win, the Crusaders improve to 3-2 on the season while the Pacers see their record slip to 2-2.

Marywood's Andrew Lozoskie (Forest Hill, MD) opened the scoring with an unassisted goal just over a minute into the game and Ryne Boyle (Farmingville, NY) doubled the Pacers lead with 3:57 to play after finding the net after receiving a pass from Stephen Klepfer (Binghamton, NY).

Susquehanna responded with the game's next four goals and held a 4-2 advantage with 6:48 to play in the opening half when Greg Norris scored unassisted. Klepfer got the Pacers back within a single tally with an unassisted marker of his own with 1:56 remaining in the frame.

A Collin Fadrowski goal at the 11:11 mark of the third quarter restored the visitor's two-goal cushion, but Marywood would send the game into the final 15 minutes tied at 5-5 after Nick Parks (Emmaus, PA) and Brian Roerden (Warwick, NY) scored unassisted goals.

Susquehanna got three goals in the first 4:48 of the fourth quarter including two from Billy Spack to take an 8-5 lead.

Marywood battled back and Lozoskie netted his second goal of the night with 6:58 to play. Klepfer would equal the feat with 3:27 remaining to cut the Pacers' deficit to 8-7.

With the Crusader's looking to maintain possession over the final two minutes of the game, James Drescher (Davidsonville, MD) forced a Susquehanna turnover and gained possession of the loose ball and Marywood quickly called a timeout with 24 seconds to play.

Looking to send the game into overtime, Brian Roerden fired a shot at the cage that Susquehanna goalie Anthony Maiorella turned aside just before the final horn sounded, giving the Crusaders their second-straight one-goal win.

Marywood out-shot Susquehanna by a 32-20 margin and also held a 47-36 edge in groundballs.

Maiorella made 11 saves in over 31 minutes of action in the Crusaders' net to pick up his third win of the season. Bill Davis turned aside six Marywood shots after starting between the pipes for Susquehanna.

Jesse Habich (Broomall, PA) made eight saves for Marywood in a losing effort.

Marywood is scheduled to host Elizabethtown this Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in a non-conference match-up with the Blue Jays.
