BOX SCORE

Scranton, PA – Taylor McKeown scored a program-record seven goals to lead Marywod University to a thrilling 13-12 victory over Neumann College in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opener for both teams. The Pacers picked up their first win of the season and their first under first-year head coach Rob Brooks to improve to 1-3 on the season and 1-0 in conference play.

McKeown (Nashua, NH) opened the scoring for the Pacers with an unassisted goal 4:40 into the game, but Neumann would respond with seven of the game's next eight goals, including four from Colleen Finnegan, to take a 7-2 lead with 12:57 remaining in the first half.

Marywood would get two more goals from McKeown and on from Jacquelyn Swallow (Richboro, PA) before halftime to cut the Knights' advantage to 7-5 heading into the intermission.

Following the break, Neumann's Gabby D'Ambrosio would sandwich a pair of goals around a two from the host's McKeown before Marywood's Allie Sodl (Coplay, PA) scored her second goal of the game with 15:15 to play to cut Marywood's deficit to a single goal at 9-8.

Neumann responded with a pair of goals separated by just 23 seconds before Alexis Willey (Hummelstown, PA) found the back of the cage with 10:48 to play, making the score 11-9 in favor of the visitors.

The Knights' Emily Zazaba scored unassisted with 9:14 to play to give Neumann a three-goal lead.

Alanna Waldron (Liverpool, NY) scored unassisted with 9:01 to play to make the score 12-10. McKeown netted her sixth goal of the evening at the 6:27 mark and Jen Silvestri (Warwick, NY) tied the score at 12-12 just 11 seconds later after controlling the ensuing drawing and firing a shot past Knights' netminder Kathleen Sinclair.

McKeown would score again with 5:29 remaining, giving the Pacers their first lead since early in the first half, and the defense, led by goalie Katie Sullivan (Merrick, NY) would make it stand as the game-winner.

Neumann, who fell to 0-5 on the season and 0-1 in CSAC play, held a 34-30 advantage in shots for the game while each team corralled 44 ground balls.
Sullivan picked up her first win of the season with a solid 19-save performance while Sinclair turned aside nine Pacer shots in the loss.

Marywood is scheduled to host Cazenovia College on Saturday in a non-conference game scheduled to face-off at 1:00 p.m.
