BOX SCORE

Dover, DE - Wesley College scored the first six goals of Saturday's non-conference men's lacrosse game against Marywood University and never looked back on their way to a 16-5 victory over the Pacers. With the win, the Wolverines improve to 6-2 on the season while Marywood will take a 2-4 overall mark into their conference opener next Saturday.

Wesley would take a 2-0 lead after the first quarter on goals by Justin D'Alonzo and Nick Pisacano. Joe Trezza would double the Wolverines' lead with a pair of tallies separated by just over a minute and a half early in the second period.

Pisacano and Dan Skeels would score for Wesley before Dustin Sturdevant (Binghamton, NY) got the Pacers on the board by scoring off a feed from Nick Parks (Emmaus, PA) with 4:32 to play in the second quarter.

The Wolverines would build an 8-1 halftime lead and add a goal early in the third quarter before Parks and Sturdevant again combined for the Pacers' second goal. After Trezza tallied his third marker of the afternoon, Parks scored one of his own with 4:50 remaining in the third quarter.

Following a goal by Skeels, Marywood's Ryan Kearney (River Vale, NJ) scored his first collegiate goal unassisted with 34 seconds remaining in the period.

Wesley would score the next five goals of the game before Sturdevant completed his first career hat-trick with a man-up goal after taking a pass from Jamie Beagen (Patchogue, NY) to close out the scoring.

The Wolverines held a 39-19 advantage in shots for the game and won the groundball battle by a 37-20 margin.

Jim McCleaft made four saves in over 53 minutes of action in Wesley's cage to pick up the win while Corey Bousquet made one save in relief of McCleaft.

Eric Luhrmann (Glen Falls, NY) made 10 saves in his first start of the season between the pipes for the Pacers.

Marywood will enjoy a week off before opening the conference portion of their schedule next Saturday when they host Gwynedd-Mercy College. Face-off between the Pacers and Griffins is slated for 3:00 p.m. in Scranton.
