Scranton, PA – Christy Foster scored a game-high six goals to lead visiting Cazenovia College to a 19-16 win over Marywood University in a high-scoring non-conference women's lacrosse game on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Wildcats improve to 3-1 on the season while the Pacers record slips to 1-4.

Marywood built a 5-1 lead over the first 11 minutes of Saturdays' game after getting goals from four different players. Cazenovia's Nicole Kimmel responded with two straight goals for the Wildcats, but the Pacers would get goals from Meg Barbarino (Endwell, NY), Alanna Waldron (Liverpool, NY), and Alexis Willey (Hummelstown, PA) to take an 8-3 lead with 9:15 to play in the opening half.

Cazenovia went on a five-goal run to tie the score at 8-8 when Kimmel scored her third goal of the game at the 5:47 mark.

The Pacers' Allie Sodl (Coplay, PA) and the Wildcats' Foster each tallied goals before halftime and the teams headed to the intermission knotted at 9-9.

Taylor McKeown (Nashua, NH) and Sodl would sandwich a pair of goals around two Cazenovia scores early in the first half before Kimmel put the visitors ahead 12-11 with 22:11 remaining off a Cassandra Gazeley assist.

Cazenovia countered with a decisive five-goal run that saw the visitors build a 17-14 lead when Lauren Paul scored unassisted with 15:14 showing on the clock. Waldron's fifth goal of the game brought Marywood within two goals with 13:52 to play, but the hosts were unable to draw any closer the rest of the way.

The Wildcats' Kimmel finished with a game-high seven points on four goals and three assists while Foster led all goal-scorers with six tallies. Cari Dwinal made 11 saves in Cazenovia's cage to pick up the win.

McKeown and Waldron each netted five goals apiece to lead Marywood, who finished the game with a narrow 31-30 edge in shots. Kristy Califano (Suffern, NY) made nine saves in her collegiate debut between the Pacers' pipes.

Marywood will return to their home field on Monday for a game against Polytechnic University, the Pacers' final non-conference game before starting a string of four consecutive Colonial States Athletic Conference contests beginning on Wednesday at Cabrini. Monday's match-up with the Fighting Blue Jays is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
