GAME 2 BOX SCORE

Rosemont, PA - The Marywood University softball team compiled 37 hits over two games to defeat the Ramblers 16-0, and 18-1 in a CSAC doubleheader Sunday afternoon outside of Philadelphia. This loss drops Rosemont to 0-7 overall and 0-6 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference while the Pacers improve to 11-5 and 6-2.

In game one, The Pacers jumped out to a four nothing lead in the first. Five Rosemont errors in the next three innings, gave them the margin they needed to end the game in five. Errors also plagued the Ramblers in game two, with the team committing seven and allowing Marywood and 9-0 lead by the second inning.

Rosemont's only run came in the fourth when junior Adriann Demchenko hit a triple to the left center gap. She scored then scored on a wild pitch. For Marywood, junior Colleen Regan (Endwell, NY) was four for five (.800) on the day with one RBI.  Freshman Kim Lope (Clifton, NJ) also had a good day going four for eight (.500) with five RBIs.

The Pacer pitching staff of senior Lauren Monaco (Carle Place, NY) and freshman Kaitlyn Brennan (Taylor, PA) compiled 12 strikeouts and gave up only four hits and one run in 10 innings.  Caitlin Mazzoni (Middletown, Del./Middletown) pitched five innings in game one giving up nine earned runs and walking two.  Heather Daneker had the start in game one and gave up seven earned runs in 3.2 innings of action.

Marywood, now winners of six of their last seven games and four in a row, will enjoy a few days off before returning to action Friday against Baptist Bible College.  The CSAC doubleheader with the Lady Defenders is scheduled for a 3:00 pm start in Clarks Summit.
