BOX SCORE

Scranton, PA - Evan Bolus won at both one-doubles and two singles but it was not enough as visiting King's College defeated Marywood University 7-2 in non-conference men's tennis action Tuesday afternoon in Scranton.  The win sends the Monarchs to above .500 at 5-4 on the year while the Pacers dropped their third straight and slipped to 4-7.

Bolus (Clarks Summit, PA) and one-doubles partner Greg Chilson (Mountainside, NJ) disposed of King's top duo of Jonathan Hand and Povl Schmidt 8-4, but the Monarchs won 9-7 at both two-doubles and three-doubles to reclaim a 2-1 lead in the match.

Bolus then upped his singles record to 7-4 on the year with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-0 win over Schmidt at two-singles, but Marywood fell behind 6-2 with losses at three through six singles.  In a tightly contested battle at one-singles to end the day, Hand defeated Chilson in a three-set super tiebreaker 7-5, 3-6, 10-8.

The Pacers return to action Saturday at 11:00 am as they host Cabrini College in a CSAC match.
