BOX SCORE

LaPlume, PA - Keystone College broke open a tight game with a four-run fourth as the Giants beat Marywood 7-2 to complete the regular season three-game sweep of the Pacers.  The Giants, ranked 13th in the country in the latest ABCA poll, improved to 26-4 (9-0 CSAC) while Marywood fell to 6-16 (0-6 CSAC).

Holding a 1-0 lead going into the bottom of the fourth, Keystone used a two-run single to center from designated hitter Donald Reese to break open game and take a 3-0 lead.  The Giants would plate two more runs on a fielding error later in the inning to go up 5-0.  Marywood got one back in the seventh as pinch-runner Jason Lane (Moosic, PA) scored on a passed-ball.

Marywood cut the lead to 5-2 in the top of the eighth as Jason Bugno (Clarks Summit, PA) picked up an RBI after being hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, but Keystone answered in the bottom half of the frame with two more runs to put the game away.

Tim Freda (Westbury, NY) took the loss on the mound after a complete-game effort for Marywood.  Freda, now 1-2 on the year, allowed five earned runs on 11 hits over eight full innings.  Mike Hanley got the win for Keystone after not allowing a run over six innings of work.  Freda struck out two Keystone batters on the day, while Hanley got three strikeouts.

Mike Castellano (Brooklyn, NY) was 2-4 for Marywood and was the only Pacer with multiple hits on the day.  Castellano also picked up a stolen base.

Marywood will look to end their six-game skid Friday when the Pacers host Centenary College in a 3:00 pm nine-inning game in Scranton.
