BOX SCORE

Scranton, PA – Marywood University opened the second half of Saturday afternoon's Colonial States Athletic Conference women's lacrosse game with eight straight goals on their way to a 16-11 win over the College of Notre Dame. With the win, the Pacers clinched a berth in the upcoming CSAC playoffs while finishing the conference portion of their schedule with a 4-3 record and leveling their overall mark at 7-7.

Notre Dame's Lauren Terry opened the scoring just 20 seconds into Saturday's contest before Alexis Willey (Hummelstown, PA) equalized for Marywood by scoring off of a Taylor McKeown (Nashua, NH) assist, setting the tone for a seesaw first half in which neither team was able to gain a lead larger than a single goal.

McKewon's goal at the 19:45 mark off a feed from Allie Sodl (Coplay, PA) put the Pacers ahead at 4-3, but the teams would trade goals the remainder of the half with the Gators' Nicole McFeaters sending the game into halftime tied 8-8 after scoring with just 10 seconds remaining in the opening thirty minutes off a Kristen Clarke assist.

McKeown scored three first half goals to lead the Pacers, who also got a pair of tallies from Jacquelyn Swallow (Richboro, PA).

Jen Silvestri (Warwick, NY) scored 47 seconds into the second half to put Marywood ahead 9-8 and McKeown gave the Pacers a two-goal cushion by controlling the ensuing draw and scoring just nine seconds after Silvestri's marker.

With a berth in the conference playoffs hanging on the line, the Pacers made sure the second half would be nothing like the first and would score six more unanswered goals to hold a 16-8 lead with 12:40 to play.

The Pacers defense did the rest, holding the Gators off the scoreboard for the first 29 minutes of the second half before Terry netted three harmless goals in the final minute of the game.

Marywood, who held a 39-25 advantage in shots and 31-18 edge in groundballs, got a game-high seven points from McKeown who finished with six goals and one assist. Sodl added with five points on four goals and one helper for the Pacers, who also got multiple-point games from Swallow, Willey, and Alanna Waldron (Liverpool, NY)

Clarke had six points on four goals and two assists to lead the College of Notre Dame, who also got five goals from Terry.

Katie Sullivan (Merrick, NY) made five saves in evening her record at 6-6 in Marywood's goal while her counterpart, Amanda Arkwright, turned aside 16 Pacer shots in taking the loss.

Marywood closes out the regular season portion of its schedule on Tuesday when they travel across town to take on the University of Scranton in a non-conference game scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m.
