Dallas, PA - Marywood University's Mallory Gable improved to 7-0 on the year on the mound as the Pacers rallied from a game-one loss to defeat former conference foe Misericordia University 4-2 in the nightcap to salvage a split with the Cougars.  Misericordia took game one 8-2.  The Pacers move to 16-7 on the year while Misericordia is 12-10.

The Cougars out-hit Marywood 12-6 in the opener but Marywood committed three errors to Misericordia's zero as the hosts won, 8-2.  Misericordia would plate two in the first and four in the third to take a 6-2 lead, and would add insurance runs in the fourth and sixth.  Nikki Belles (Rome, PA) took the los, allowing seven runs on ten hits over 3.1 innings of work.  Kaitlyn Brennan (Taylor, PA) came on in relief for Marywood, striking out three over 2.2 innings.  Brennan also went 1-2 at the plate with a homer and two RBI in the opener.

Gable (Hughestown, PA) took control early in the nightcap, allowing just five hits and not allowing a run until the sixth.  By then, Marywood had scored all the runs they would need, putting two across in the third and two more in the top half of the sixth.  The senior struck out six in her seventh complete game effort of the year.  Jillian Flanagan (Monroe, NY) was 1-1 with a pinch-hit two-run double for Marywood, while Kim Lope (Clifton, NJ) was 2-3 with a double.

Marywood will enjoy nine days off before returning to action on April 14th in a CSAC doubleheader with Keystone College at 3:00 pm in LaPlume.
