Scranton, PA – Marywood University freshman Taylor McKeown scored seven goals including her 50th of the season to lead the Pacers to an 18-16 win over Misericordia University in non-conference women's lacrosse action on a chilly Tuesday afternoon in Scranton. Marywood, winners of their past three contests, improves to 5-6 on the season while the Cougars fall to 3-8.

Misericorida's Jessy Schwenk opened the scoring just 18 seconds into the contest with unassisted goal before McKeown (Nashau, NH) equalized with a goal of her own at the 25:54 mark.

Three different Cougars scored in a span of 2:12 to give the visitors a 4-1 lead, but Marywood responded with a run five consecutive goals to put the Pacers ahead 6-4 with 14:41 to play in the opening half.

After Nicole DeAngelis brought Misericordia back within a single tally at the 10:47 mark, the Pacers would scored the final four goals of the opening 30 minutes to hold a 10-5 halftime lead.

Emily Foley and Shannon Tinkham scored goals for Misericordia to open the second period of play before Jen Silvestri (Warwick, NY) scored unassisted with 20:02 remaining give Marywood an 11-7 advantage.

A pair of goals by the Cougars' DeAngelis cut Misericordia's deficit to two goals, but McKeown's fifth goal of the game, and 50th of the season, with 17:27 to play ignited a five-goal run by the Pacers that put the hosts ahead 16-9 with 12:59 remaining.

The Cougars would not surrender without a fight though and stormed back with four unanswered goals, including three more by DeAngelis, to cut Marywood's lead to16-13.

Marywood's Silvestri and the Misericordia's Natasha Jankowsky traded goals before McKeown netted her seventh marker of the afternoon on a free-position shot with 3:26 left to give the Pacers an 18-14 lead.

The Cougars got a quick pair of late goals to trail by two with 41 seconds to play, but Marywood held on for their third straight win.

McKeown finished the game with eight points on seven goals and one assist. Alanna Waldron (Liverpool, NY) added four goals and one assist while Ally Sodl (Coplay, PA) and Jacquelyn Swallow (Richboro, PA) each had three-point games.

Katie Sullivan (Merrick, NY) picked up the win in net for the Pacers after making 17 saves.

Misericordia, who was led by DeAngelis's nine-goal performance, held a 40-34 edge in shots for the game and a 24-12 advantage in draw controls. Jankowsky finished the game with four points on three goals and one assists for the Cougars. Kathryn Wallace made 12 stops in Misericordia's cage.

Marywood will enjoy more than a full week off before returning to action next Wednesday when they take on Colonial States Athletic Conference opponent Centenary College. Game time is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. in Hackettstown, NJ.
