Radnor, PA – Cabrini College claimed the school's ninth consecutive Colonial States Athletic Conference men's lacrosse title with a 22-8 win over Marywood University in Saturday's CSAC Championship game at Edith Robb Dixon Field. The Cavaliers, currently ranked 14th in the nation, improve to 14-3 on the season with the win and clinch an automatic berth in the upcoming NCAA Tournament.

Paul Skulski put Cabrini in front 2:49 into Saturday's championship with an unassisted goal and Matt Conaway would double the Cavaliers' lead just under two minutes later. Cabrini would stretch their lead to 5-0 before William Roerden (Warwick, NY) scored off a Stephen Klepfer (Binghamton, NY) assist with 2:07 remaining in the first quarter to get the Marywood on the board.

An unassisted goal by the Pacers' Joe LaBella (Allentown, PA) brought the score to 5-2 before Scott Reimer scored with just 12 seconds on the clock to give Cabrini a 6-2 edge after the first period of play.

The Cavaliers would score four goals in the 3:30 of the second period to build a 10-2 lead and Conaway, Reimer, and CSAC Player of the Year Casey Grugan all scored goals in the final two minutes of the second stanza as Cabrini took a 13-3 lead into halftime after out-shooting the Pacers 25-9 in the opening 30 minutes of play.

Cabrini extended their lead to 16-3 by scoring the first three goals of the third quarter before Roerden netted his second tally of the day with 6:42 to play in the frame and Nick Parks (Emmaus, PA) scored a man-up goal assisted by Jamie Beagen (Patchogue, NY) at the 4:22 mark to bring the score to 16-5 before the Cavaliers responded with a pair of goals to take an 18-3 lead into the final 15 minutes of play.

Three different Cavaliers scored to open the fourth quarter before Roerden completed his hat-trick at the 7:31 mark by finding the net unassisted. Following a goal by Cabrini's Joe Strain, LaBella netted his second marked of the afternoon for Marywood with 2:22 to play and Chris Riley (Islip, NY) would set up George Downey IV (Palmyra, PA) for a goal 32 seconds later to close out the scoring.

Cabrini, who has now won 88 consecutive games over conference opponents, held a 50-22 advantage in shots for the game and won the groundball battle by a 60-40 margin.

Reimer finished with a game-high seven goals while Conaway added five for the Cavaliers. Kevin Chenoweth made four saves in the first half to pick up the win while Bobby Chambers played the second thirty minutes between the Cavaliers' pipes and made two stops.

Eric Luhrmann (Glens Falls, NY) took the loss after making three saves in 18 and a half minutes in Marywood's goal before being relieved by Jesse Habich (Broomall, PA) who turned aside 11 Cavalier shots in 41 and a half minutes of action.

Marywood, who finishes the second season in program history with a 10-7 record, will lose just two players to graduation for the 2010 season: Second Team All-Conference defender Alex Dawson (Endicott, NY) and defender Turner Semrau (Penfield, NY).
