Scranton, PA - Wilkes University got a pair of early second half goals within a 27-second time span as the visiting Colonels spoiled Marywood University's debut on their new turf field with a 2-0 non-conference win over the host Pacers Tuesday afternoon in Scranton.

After a scoreless first half which saw Marywood out-shoot the visitors by a 9-6 margin, Wilkes capitalized on a defensive miscue just over under seven and a half minutes into the second half when Jenna Sargent beat the Pacers' back line down the right flank after a slot pass from Julissa Reed, cut in and slotted Pacers' keeper Meghan Coyle (Endicott, NY). Less than 30-seconds later, Reed scored in nearly the exact same way.

Marywood out-shot the visitors 14-9 on the day. Coyle registered five saves in 90 minutes of action for the Pacers. Sarah Shetler and Brooke Keister combined for eight saves to preserve the shut-out for the Colonels, with Keister making perhaps the games most exciting save off a shot from the foot of Marywood's Olivia Habicht (Woodcliff Lake, NJ).

Marywood (0-1) returns to action this Saturday when the Pacers travel to Oneonta, New York to face Hartwick College at 1:00 pm. Marywood leads that all-time series 2-0 after having captured the Erinn K. Brozman Memorial Cup each of the last two seasons with identical 1-0 wins over the host Hawks.

Wilkes (1-0) will travel to Haverford to take part in the Haverford College tournament on Saturday and Sunday. The Colonels will open the tournament by taking on the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh at 3:30 pm. On Sunday Wilkes will play Arcadia University, also at 3:30 pm.
