Scranton, PA - Neumann University rallied for four singles wins as the visiting Knights remained perfect in CSAC play with a 5-4 come-from-behind win over host Marywood University Sunday afternoon in women's tennis action.  The win keeps Neumann unbeaten in conference play at 2-0 (3-2 overall) while Marywood remains winless in four attempts (0-1 CSAC).

Marywood took an early 2-1 lead after doubles with wins from the one-doubles team of Ashley Karli (Blandon, PA) and Kara Hoff (Montoursville, PA), who beat their opponents from Neumann 8-1.  At three-doubles, Marywood's Lindsay Burke (Yorktown, NY) and Beth Schneider (Port Jervis, NY) won by a score of 8-2.  But Neumann got one point in doubles as their two-doubles team of Jasper Thomson and Michelle Steward beat Marywood's Kellie Coleman (Carbondale, PA) and Jessica Brogna (Pittston, PA), 8-2.

Karli and Schneider each won at one and three singles, respectively, to give Marywood four points on the day, but Neumann took the remaining singles matches to squeek out the win, including close three-set battles at two-singles and four singles.  In both instances, Marywood won the opening set easily but the Knights rallied for 6-4 wins in the second and third sets.

Marywood returns to action Monday with a trip to Gwynedd Valley to take on Gwynedd-Mercy College at 4:00 pm in CSAC action.
