Scranton, PA – Mt St. Mary College notched a 3-1 victory over Marywood University in non-conference volleyball action Tuesday evening in the Insalaco Arena. The Blue Knights, who defeated the Pacers in five sets on September 4th, improve to 3-5 on the season while Marywood sees its record slip to 2-8.
After Mt. St. Mary claimed the opening game 25-20, Marywood responded with a 25-15 win in the second set to knot the match at one game apiece. However, the Blue Knights responded with a 25-18 decision in game three and a 25-14 win in the fourth to notch their second win over the Pacers of the season.
Taryn Borden (Bridgewater, NJ) led Marywood with a team-high 10 kills and four service aces to go along with 16 digs. Marin Robinson (South Windsor, CT) added six kills and 10 digs, while Arielle Cassidy contributed a team-best 16 digs for the Pacers.
Marywood will return to action next week when they host Neumann University for their first Colonial States Athletic Conference game of the season in a match slated to begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Insalaco Arena.
