Scranton, PA – Visiting Delaware Valley College scored two first half goals and held on for a 2-1 victory of Marywood University in non-conference men's soccer action Saturday afternoon in Scranton. With the win the Aggies lift their record to 4-2 on the season while Marywood slides to 1-4-1.

Delaware Valley struck first in the 17th minute on an Eric Devlin goal. After taking a pass from Tom Antonucci, Devlin turned and fired a shot from ten yards out the beat Marywood goalkeeper Matt Roman (Williamsport, PA) to the near post.

The Aggies doubled their lead in the 33rd minute when Antonucci set up Tyler Yankovich who scored on a header from close range. Delaware Valley would hold a 2-0 halftime lead after out-shooting the Pacers 13-7 in the first half.

Marywood cut their deficit to 2-1 just 1:22 into the second half. Freshman Collin Bigart (Binghamton, NY) made a long run down the right flank and drew a corner kick. Ryan Jones (Holland, PA) served the restart into the mix where Brett Megee (Easton, PA) headed home his first goal of the season.

Marywood had several great opportunities to equalize but where unable to do so. After the Pacers were awarded an indirect kick in the Aggies penalty box, Jones drilled a shot that Delaware Valley goalkeeper Steve Richmyer made a spectacular save on. Several minutes later, with Richmyer pulled out of position, Anthony Kapp's (Duncannon, PA) close-range shot was cleared of the line by an Aggies' defender to preserve the win.

The Pacers finished the game with a 20-17 edge in shots and a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Marywood will look to get back in the win column on Tuesday when they visit Ithaca College. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. in Ithaca.
