Evan Bolus won at both four singles (6-0, 7-5) and two-doubles (8-5) as Marywood downed Miseri 9-0 Sunday Men's Tennis Opens with Impressive Win Men's Tennis - 9/20/2009 3:17:02 PM Box Score Scranton, PA – Marywood University opened the 2009-10 men's tennis season in impressive fashion as the host Pacers downed visiting Misericordia University 9-0 in non-conference action Sunday afternoon in Scranton. The Pacers are now 1-0 while Misericordia slips to 1-2. Marywood made quick work of the Cougars in doubles action as the number-one doubles team of Todd Doran (South Windsor, CT) and Greg Chilson (Mountainside, NJ) easily won 8-2 and were followed by wins from Evan Bolus (Clarks Summit, PA) and Wyatt Nolan (Montoursville, PA) at two-doubles and the team of Ethan Jones (Lebanon, PA) and Daniel Pfafman (Stratford, NJ) at three-doubles. Up 3-0 heading into singles play, Marywood expanded their lead with an easy 6-0, 6-1 win by Chilson at two-singles and a 6-2, 6-4 win from Doran at one-singles. Pfafman struggled in his opening set against the Cougars' Brett Ford, falling 4-6, but the freshman rebounded for 6-4, 6-3 wins in the second and third sets for the win. Bolus, Jones and Nolan all won easily in their first sets at four through six singles, respectively, before each winning 7-5 in their second sets.
