Langhorne, PA – Nine different players had either a goal or an assist and Marywood University recorded 45 shots on offense as the Pacers shutout Philadelphia Biblical University 7-0 to open Colonial States Athletics Conference play Tuesday afternoon.

Marywood (3-2, 1-0 CSAC) rattled off their third consecutive win after starting the season 0-2. The Pacers scored three goals in a 1:15 span in the opening moments of the game and never looked back, stretching their lead to 4-0 by halftime.

Siobhan Blancaflor (Haddam, CT) opened the scoring in the seventh minute of play by finishing a cross from Erica Mechalke (Elmira, NY). Shannon Hresko (Gibbstown, NJ) then made it 2-0 in favor of the visitors just 44 seconds later on a nice shot from 25 yards out on the right side of the 18 box to the far post, putting the ball just over the head of PBU's Sarah Towne. At the 7:25 mark, Blancaflor slid a ball through to Lisa Hanselman (Manheim, PA) and the senior promptly slid the ball in for a 3-0 lead. Just over ten minutes later, Tayler Simmons (Hopewell Junction, NY) netted her first goal of the season with a long drive from 35 yards out.

Hanselman opened the scoring for Marywood in the second half with an assist from Simmons, and less than 10-minutes later Olivia Habicht (Woodcliff Lake, NJ) scored off a feed from Diana Young (Federalsburg, MD) to make it 6-0. Erin Doyle (New Hampton, NY) then closed the scoring on the day by heading home a Chelsea Pixley (Sidney, NY) corner kick in the 80th minute of play.

Meghan Coyle (Endicott, NY), Jessica Shotwell (Philadelphia, PA) and Dominique Kozuch (Jermyn, PA) all combined for the shutout in goal for the Pacers, with Coyle making four first-half stops and Shotwell making one save in the second half. Towne made 18 saves for the Crimson Eagles, while the defense was credited with three additional saves after clearing several Marywood attempts off the goal line.

Marywood has little time to celebrate the conference opening win as the Pacers travel to nearby Dallas Wednesday night to take on Misericordia University in non-conference action. Kick-off is set for 7:00 pm at the Cougar's Mangelsdorf field.
