Scranton, PA – Visiting Neumann University picked up a 3-0 win over Marywood University by winning sets of 25-18, 25-22, and 26-24 to spoil the Pacers' Colonial States Athletic Conference opener on Wednesday evening. The Knights improve to 2-11 on the season and 2-0 in conference play while the Pacers see their record fall to 2-9 overall and 0-1 in the CSAC.
Ashley Mathis led Neumann with 11 kills while Jarrae Robinson added nine of her own. Cecily Scavicchio contributed 22 assists and 10 digs and Victoria Limmina led four Knights with double-digit digs with 13.
Marywood's Lizzy Green (Shenandoah, PA) and Emily Fillman (Clarion, PA) each had 11 kills to lead the Pacers, with Fillman adding a pair of service aces and 14 digs. Arielle Cassidy (Garwood, NJ) recorded a game-high 16 digs while Alyssa Hartranft had a game-best 24 assists.
Marywood is off until Saturday, October 3rd when they will compete in a CSAC tri-match at Baptist Bible where they will take on the Defenders at 11:00 a.m. before meeting the College of Notre Dame at 1:00 p.m.
