Marywood Wins Third Straight, Blanks PBU 9-0

Scranton, PA – Marywood University won their third consecutive match and moved above .500 in conference play with a 9-0 win over visiting Philadelphia Biblical University in women's tennis action Saturday afternoon in Scranton. With the win, the Pacers improve to 3-5 (3-2 CSAC) while the Crimson Eagles slip to 3-5 (1-4 CSAC).

Marywood jumped out to a 3-0 lead after sweeping doubles action. Then, in singles play, Kara Hoff (Montoursville, PA) Aubrey Klesh (West Hazleton, PA) and Kristin Guba (Latham, NY) all blanked their opponents 6-0, 6-0 at two, five and six singles, respectively, to put Marywood up 6-0. Ashley Karli (Blandon, PA) out-lasted Katelynn Wilson 7-5, 7-5 for a win at one-singles.

Beth Schneider (Port Jervis, NY) won at three singles and Lindsay Burke (Yorktown, NY) won 6-1, 6-0 at four singles to complete the sweep for the hosts.

Marywood returns to action Wednesday with a local CSAC match up in Clarks Summit with Baptist Bible College. That match is set for a 3:30 pm start.
