Clarks Summit, PA - Marywood University won its fourth consecutive women's tennis match and improved to 4-2 in CSAC play as the Pacers downed host Baptist Bible College 8-1 Wednesday afternoon in Clarks Summit.  The Pacers are now 4-5 overall while the Lady Defenders are 1-8.

Marywood swept all three doubles matches, with the tightest contest coming at No. 1 doubles as Marywood's Ashley Karli and Lauren Fersch topped Katie Boger and Julie Herr 8-6.  Both No. 2 and No. 3 doubles were won by the Pacers with identical 8-1 scores.

In singles action, Karli (Blandon, PA) kept things going for Marywood, downing Boger 6-3, 7-5 at No. 1 singles play.  Beth Schneider (Port Jervis, NY) earned a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles for the Pacers, but Herr got BBC's lone point of the day with a hard-fought, three set win over Marywood's Lindsay Burke (Yorktown, NY) at No. 3 singles.  Herr won the opening set 6-4 but Burke responded with a 6-1 win in the second before falling to Herr 10-7 in a third set super tiebreaker.  Marywood's Nicole Siddall (Goshen, CT) and Kristin Guba (Latham, NY) each won by scores of 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 and No. 5 singles, respectively, while Eileen Keck (Orwigsburg, PA) closed out the win for the Pacers with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Rebecca Wagner.

Marywood returns to action in search of their fifth straight win when they host the College of Notre Dame as part of Homecoming/Family Weekend this Sunday at 2:00 pm.
