Wilkes-Barre, PA – Misericordia University handed former conference foe Marywood University their third defeat in four games as the Cougars topped Marywood 3-1 in the closing game of the King's College Volleyball Tournament Saturday afternoon at King's College's Scandlon Gymnasium.

The Cougars, now 2-2 on the year, earned a 25-19 win in the opening game before dropping a 25-22 decision as Marywood evened the match at 1-1. But the Cougars proved too much for the tired Pacers, who were coming off a hard-fought win over King's in their opening match Saturday. Misericordia took the next two matches 25-21 and 25-19 to take the win.

Emily Fillman (Clarion, PA) was the only Pacer to get double-digit kills, recording 11 on the night. Riona Corr (Somersworth, NH) had 22 of Marywood's 29 assists, while Arielle Cassidy (Garwood, NJ) had 23 digs.

Marywood (1-3) returns to action Tuesday night with a trip across town to the John Long Center to do battle with the University of Scranton at 7:00 pm.
