Clarks Summit, PA - Marywood University placed three players in double figures and a last second shot from host Baptist Bible College fell short as the Pacers snapped a six-game skid with a 90-87 win over the Defenders Monday evening in Clarks Summit.  Marywood improves to 4-7 (1-4 CSAC) with the win while BBC falls to 2-9 (1-4 CSAC).

Marywood connected on 54.4% of their shots from the floor from the game and hit 16 of 30 attempts in the opening half as they built a five-point lead at the break, 45-40.  However, Marywood went cold from the charity stripe in the second half which allowed Baptist Bible to climb back into the game.  The Pacers knocked down just 13 of 26 free throws in the second half after sinking 9of 11 attempts from the line in the opening half.

Trailing 90-84 with 17 seconds left, BBC knocked down a three to make it a one possession game.  Marywood would miss both free throw shots after a Defender foul with 7.1 seconds left, and the Defenders got an open look at the top of the key for a game-tying three-pointer that would fall just short.

Sidney Tharpe (Victorville, CA) led a trio of Pacers in double-figures with a team-high 17 points.  Freshman guards D.J. Strayhorn (Henryville, PA) and Jacques Robinson (Athens, GA) each had 16 points in the Pacers' win.  Baptist Bible would place four players in double digits and get a game-high 19 points effort from Christian Attlesey.  Teammate Nathan Greve had 18 points, while Tommy Waszaj and Seth Bernard had 12 and 11, respectively.

Marywood and BBC will have a rematch next Monday at Marywood's Insalaco Arena, but the Pacers must first face Immaculata University Thursday at 7:00 pm at Immaculata and host Gwynedd-Mercy College Saturday at 1:00 pm.
