Scranton, PA - Brandon Williams scored a game-high 23 points and Lemeire Talley added 20 as visiting Gwynedd-Mercy College moved to 5-1 in conference play with a 90-68 win over host Marywood University Saturday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference men's basketball action. The Griffins, now 5-7 overall, also got 14 points from Jon Hogga.

Marywood, who fell to 4-9 (1-6 CSAC) with the loss, fell behind by 14 at the break despite hitting over 40% of their shots from the field in the first half. The Griffins were hot from the floor all game, connecting on 50% of their shots in the opening half and on 48.3% overall. GMC also sank 82% of their chances at the free-throw line, going 27 of 33 for the game from the charity stripe.

Marywood, who hit just 22% of their shots from long-range, got 13 points from Sidney Tharpe (Victorville, CA) and D.J. Strayhorn (Henryville, PA) and 10 from Matthew Medici (Princeton Junction, NJ). However, Tharpe was cold in the first half, going 0-for-7 from the floor including a 0-for-6 effort from three-point range.

Marywood will look to stop their two-game skid Monday night when the Pacers host Baptist Bible College as the two teams face off for a second time within a week. Last Monday, Marywood topped the Defenders in Clarks Summit 90-87 after a BBC three-pointer fell short at the buzzer.
