Scranton, PA – Amanda Lass came off the bench to score a game-high 16 points and moved into eighth place on Marywood University's all-time scoring list to lead the Pacers to a 64-27 win over Rosemont College in non-conference action Saturday afternoon. Marywood notched their third-consecutive win to improve to 11-3 on the season while the Ravens fall to 3-12.
Marywood opened the game with a 22-3 run over the first 11:54 of Saturday's game and the Pacers would enjoy a 36-15 halftime lead after shooting 52.2 percent from the floor while limited the Ravens to just 22.2 percent. Marywood was led by Lass's (Brackney, PA) nine first-half points while the Ravens got seven points from Adriann Demchenko.
In the second half, Marywood's defense took control of the game, limiting Rosemont to just a single point over the first 14:31 of the period as the Pacers stretched their lead to 53-16 with five and a half minutes to play. The Pacers, who forced 36 turnovers by the Ravens, shot 45.8 percent from the field for the game including 30 percent from three-point range. Marywood went 17-25 from the free throw line.
Lass, who was honored before the game after scoring the 1,000th point of her career in Thursday's win over Cedar Crest, finished Saturday's contest with a game-high 16 points while moving into eighth places on the Pacers' all-time scoring list. The senior also blocked three shots and grabbed five rebounds. Lauren Rogan (Archbald, PA) added 13 points for Marywood while Marielle Thorsen (Belvidere, NJ) added 11 points in the win. Mariah Schaeffer (Bainbridge, NY) was the fourth Pacer in double-figures with 10 points.
Demchenko tallied 14 points in the loss for Rosemont, who connected on just eight field goals in the game.
Marywood will put their 5-0 conference mark on the line Monday evening when the visit Centenary College for a 6:00 p.m. tip-off against the Cyclones.
