Scranton, PA - Sidney Tharpe returned to Marywood's lineup and scored a game-high 28 points but Wilkes University placed five players in double figures as the visiting Colonels pulled away from the host Pacers down the stretch to collect a 86-75 win in non-conference men's basketball action Tuesday evening in Scranton. The win moves the Colonels to 8-3 on the year while Marywood slips to 3-7.

Tharpe (Victorville, CA) collected his 28 points on 11-of-21 shooting on from the floor on the night but the visitors shut the senior down over much of the final five minutes to claim the win. Tied at 62-62 with six and a half left, Wilkes used a key 9-2 run over the next two minutes of play to break open a tight game.

From there, the Colonels did most of their damage from the free-throw line, sinking 21 of 25 attempts from the charity stripe in the second half after going to the line just six times in the first half.

Wilkes got a team-high 18 poitns from Anthony Gabriel, who went 5-of-11 from the floor and 8-of-9 from the free-throw line. Teammates Paul Huch and Tyler Breznitsky each had 16 points, while Chris DeRojas had 11 and Kendall Hinze had 10.

Jacques Robinson (Athens, GA) was the only other Pacer to reach double digits with a 13-point performance. The Pacers return to action on January 11 with a CSAC game at Baptist Bible College. Tip-off in Clarks Summit is set for 8:00 pm.
